Motorcycling around South America...
We've been there a few times and really love it there.
You need to ask??????
As non residents it would be very difficult to buy bikes and get all the paper work sorted so that we can cross borders. In some countries it may be possible to go through the red tape, but we would not necessarily get the bikes we want. Also getting them ready for such a trip would be a lot of hassle.

With our savings. Also, renting our house will provide us with a nice little income.
No! We came with the plan well before any of these came out. However we watched the videos and certainly enjoyed them.

Well, no more than anywhere else in the world, in our experience. Like everywhere, there are some places you just don't go. And just be sensible.....
We will deal with that.

The continent extend 4,750m (7,640km) from Punta Gallinas (Colombia) in the North, to Cape Horn (Chile) in the South. At its broadest, near the Equator, it extends 3,300m (5300km). That's BIG!
To give you an idea of distances:
London - NY = 3,458m (5,550km)
London - Los Angeles = 5,382m (8,800km)
Moscow - NY = 4,685m (7,500km)
A tour around South America would be near 20,000 km flying! By road and with few detours we will be probably closer to 30,000 kms. That's 5.5 time London -NY. On motorbikes!
